I can only join the rest of the crowd. Preposterous! I paid for the app before. Now, instead of a simple upgrade fee, theyd like us to subscribe It was a good app. Ill be forced to replace it, like many other folks did.

Introducing monthly fees for a previously paid (and expensively paid) app is a fiasco. A so-called developer should DEVELOP a different NEW product, and establish such scheme for its new creation, not steal the one already sold and try to make people re-pay for it. Shame on Lumen Trails.

I have been using this app for years but decided to switch after the update with the ads. I thought about paying the monthly dues but didnt like the new design and the fonts, which look even worse when you type in Japanese.

Buyer Beware! Devs took my $20 and now want more money.

I paid a premium when I bought this app so I would not have ads. Now without warning they upgraded the app to have ads to try and force your hand to buy the subscription. Im suspicious that even it you buy the monthly subscription its price will go up and up and up with out warning either.

I make my living based on software development but this isnt the way to do it. Feel duped that after paying they now want a subscription fee of $24/year. Id happily pay about half that to fund "ongoing development" but while this app is really good it hasnt changed or been updated much in over a year. I tried their other app Lumen Notes and its just weird. Feels like the devs really wanted the world to fall in love with Lumen Notes but the world isnt ready and now this app being is on the hook to pay the bills. My advice would be to cut the subscription fee in half. You will still upset your customers but they wont leave the app for $12. Until some alternative comes around.

I paid to have an ad free version

Ridiculous update. Dont do it. Used to love this app but latest update FORCES a version with ads or pay a monthly subscription. I paid a large amount for the app initially and will not be paying a monthly fee.

This was the best note taker for my needs... the first time I paid for it. Now the developers seem to think that adding ads unless I now pay $24 a year in subscription fees is somehow fair. If this is how business is done with this company I want no part.

First of all, the list I use as a calendar suddenly doesnt show the dates anymore (Ive come to realize those little numbers are important on calendars). Also, I paid $20 for this app, and the update stripped it down to the free version, and invited me to upgrade to premium. Oh, Lumen Trails, you are too kind! Am I also invited to go to prom with your flatulent cousin? Its a shame because it was a good app. And it would almost be worth $2 a month if my calendar showed the dates.

This was one of the most expensive apps I purchased several years ago. Now they want me to PAY AGAIN monthly OR I will get adds. This is false advertising and wrong to charge twice.

As you can gather from the other recent reviews, this update will bring you nothing that you want; just ads that require $2 a month to remove even if you purchased the app before. Functionally, this app is awesome. But Im surprised that apple even allows this business practice. I truly hope the developer listens to the feedback, and allows the previous ad-free users to remain that way without further payment, even without access to updates. For new customers, Im not sure its worth the subscription price (and keep in mind how the old customers were treated!)

I cant believe Im being asked to pay a monthly subscription for this app or Ill otherwise have to deal with ads when I ALREADY paid for this app a long time ago in order to get rid of the ads! How can the developers do this in their right minds? Something is very wrong about this and I hope they reverse this bad decision. They are going to lose a lot of their following.

I have been obsessed with this app for nearly 5 years. I started using it primarily for mood and sleep tracking because of some physical/mental ailments I was dealing with at the time. I love that I can look back and pretty much have a clear-cut report to give to my doctor of what health trends were happening at a specific moment and make adjustments as needed. I dont use all the categories that came with the app and made some of my own customized ones. Its awesome to have an app be this flexible, especially when it comes to wellness habit formation. My only qualm echoes what others have already posted: The last update placed ads on the app and its a little off-putting. Not sure itll make me want to dump the app completely, but definitely keeping an eye out for something comparable.

I already paid a lot of money to get this app ad-free. And now they think I will pay again for what I already bought. I will NOT be subscribing. Dumb move by the developer--its unlikely to generate much income, and is sure to anger loyal users.

It was alright but not paying for it. Ads and worse ads impossible to "x" out. This is not working for me. Moving on.

I remember a time where you had the option to use an app free with ads, pay for it. I purchased the app. Was satisfied with what it provided. But now I feel scammed, having to pay a subscription. Very bad business. Will be deleting shortly...

They ruined it. Each update made it worse and worse. Now I cant even access my reminders. Ads...really? It just crashes. Looses all my appointments & asks for $ now! Seems like a scam for $. I dont think anyone even does any real work on the app. It cant handle graphics and fonts and they are trying to add that. I just need a simple list. Crazy how no app is any good for that.

Aside from the monthly fees, I dont like the new fonts and size. I immediately deleted this app.

Why I wont update this app: 1. The new fonts are ugly. Previous version uses SF UI font which looks better. 2. ADS are inserted to ad-free app. 3. The developer changes app price very frequntly. First he said that old app will work but removed from app store and replaced by Lumen Tracker. Lumen Tracker had subscription of $6.99/month->2.99->1.99. Also there was initailly 1 month free trial->1 hour free trial->no free trial but ads. Old Lumen Trails apps were removed from App store. In v 8.17 changelog, he said that "we made Lumen Trails completely free". But than he found that Lumen Tracker is not discovered by many. So he brought back Lumen Trails and added subscription model to this old app, too. He is also OK with 1 star reviews because he says that he earns more at present than past.(from the blog post on his website) 4. I tried Lumen Tracker, but category icons are removed. 5. He deleted my previous reviews of Lumen apps and blocked me on Twitter. I didnt write anything offensive. Thats why I wrote this review again. 6. Please update screenshots of Lumen Trails app. The first screenshot with 5 star is misleading. 7. There was no warning previously that this update adds ads. Many users on iPhone may have updated the app directly on their iPhone without backup. There might not have v 8.17 ipa. Im luckey to have backup. Those users frustration is reflected in 1 star reviews.
